NINA VIEIRA

Nina Vieira is a multimedia artist working between art and education. Her practice intertwines memory, body, territory and ancestry, approaching art and life as spaces of healing and reconnection.

An Afro-Indigenous artist in processes of cultural reclaiming, her research draws from Afropindoramic aesthetics through graphic and performative experimentation. She works between São Paulo and Bahia and has been part of the Manifesto Crespo collective since 2011.

"I live in the flow between São Paulo and Bahia, collaborating on collective projects, generally working through partnerships or cultural mediation practices and the collective creation of discourses. I am Iara Badu’s mother and a member of the Manifesto Crespo collective, which since 2011 has proposed reflections on body and identity through education." — Nina Vieira
