#QUEBRADALIMPA: Art, Regeneration and Environmental Justice in União de Vila Nova

For Pantanal Favela Studio, art has never been just about contemplation; it is a technology of presence, of denouncement, and above all, of care. On January 28, 2026, we transformed discourse into direct action with the launch of the #QUEBRADALIMPA project.

Located on the border between the pavement and the waters that cross União de Vila Nova, we understand that the historical neglect suffered by our community is not an accident, but a project. Our response? Ethics in motion.

The River as Sacred Territory

We began the regeneration of the river's surroundings not just as a collective cleanup, but as an act of Political Ecology. Cleaning what the system ignores is a cry for autonomy. At PFS, aesthetics walk hand in hand with environmental justice.

Environmental Justice in the Hood

We no longer accept the scenario of invisibility. Every piece of waste removed and

every space regenerated is proof that the favela is capable of producing solutions to the problems that the State ignores. The #QUEBRADALIMPA project is our commitment to the future and to the dignity of our territory.
