Pantanal Favela Studio opens in São Miguel Paulista, asserting Quebrada Art in São Paulo’s Far East

The visual arts landscape of São Paulo has a vital new address: Pantanal Favela Studio (PFS)—a studio, art gallery, and research hub located in União de Vila Nova, São Miguel Paulista.

Launched by artists and cultural entrepreneurs Rosa Luz and Henrique Cardoso, PFS emerges with a mission to connect the raw and powerful perspective of the Quebrada with the global art circuit, redefining the concept of a cultural center within the territory.

Act I: Opening and Inaugural Exhibition: "Sangue nos Olhos" (by Rosa Luz)

PFS officially opened its doors on Saturday, December 13, 2025, with the solo exhibition "Sangue nos Olhos" (Blood in the Eyes) by artist and co-founder Rosa Luz. The show is an intense and necessary investigation into body, value, territory, and the self-valuation of art produced on the periphery.
